The example of those who spend their wealth in the way of Allaah is like a seed [of grain] which grows seven spikes; in each spike is a hundred grains. And Allaah multiplies [His reward] for whom He wills. And Allaah is All-Encompassing, and Knowing.

who we are
Jukumu Letu is a charity organization for the sole purpose of assisting muslim orphans in Mombasa who are:
- Needy
- Dedicated to learning
- Have successfully completed their primary education
- Seeking to further their studies to the secondary level, and
- In pursuit of the knowledge of the religion as well as that of secular sciences by also attending madrasa.
How we came about
Being aware of the situation in Mombasa, some brothers were alarmed by the growing number of high school drop-outs, many of whom were orphaned youngsters who lacked the financial, psychological and emotional support to aid them through their education and everyday life. Amongst these youngsters are a large number of intelligent, gifted young Muslims who are comitted to excelling and attaining high goals in life but are unable to pursue their ambitions due to the absence of the necessary means.
our suggestion
If a group of five to ten individuals vow to contribute $10 (≈ £5) per month, an orphaned child in the streets of Mombasa can be granted the gift of knowledge and through it, be cultivated to become a righteous, upright member of the Ummah. This seemingly small amount in our society is magnified greatly in Mombasa and with time, grow to have far-reaching impact.
our hope
To facilitate the means by which to educate the Muslim youth and to unite together to spread the pure, uncorrupted teachings of Islaam upon the guidance of Allaah's Glorious Speech, the Qur'aan, the tongue of His Messenger, may Allaah's Blessings and Peace be upon him, and his authentic Sunnah upon the understanding of the Salaf (Pious Predecessors) of this Ummah. Free from hizbiyyah (partisanship), ghuluww (extremism), bid'ah (innovations), (misunderstandings) and taqleed (blind following). And this is Our Duty (Jukumu Letu) which no doubt outweighs the duty of helping those in need.
And who is better in speech than one who invites to Allaah and does righteousness and says, "Indeed, I am of the Muslims." [Fussilat, 41:33]
The highest goal is acting in obedience to Allaah...
